Kochi: Aiming to promote Indian spices, the Spices board will be taking part in a two-day Special India promotion campaign from August one during the London Olympics to showcase the rich variety of spices grown in the country.
Around 40 stalls would be set up on the South Bank Centre in London. The Spices Board will have at least seven stalls where Indian spices exporting companies can take up space. To facilitate sale of authentic Indian spices, their sale would also be permitted, the board said in a press release.
The board will also take part in the three day 'IFT Annual meeting' and Food Expo in Las Vegas in US from June 26. US and UK are major buyers of spices and consumers of a variety of spices products.
"It is our mission that we continue our efforts in showcasing our strengths and capabilities for a better understanding of India as a quality supplier of spices and spices products meeting every aspect of the quality parameters and standards," the board said.
The IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo in Las Vegas is a premium show frequented by leading scientists, technocrats, processors and importers.
The Board has booked a space of 60 sq metres and is planning to set up a booth facilitating participation by Indian spices companies with independent space.
Spices Board Chairman A Jayathilak will lead the Indian team. PSS Thampi, Deputy Director [Publicity], will coordinate the activities of promotion.
