New Delhi: Giving a further boost to Indo-Pak trade and cultural ties, designers from both the countries are coming together again to exhibit their creations at a three-day event beginning Saturday in the capital.
The theme of the three-day event is 'Jashan-e-Azadi' and coincides with 60 years of India's Independence.
The exhibition will see participation from established designers from the two countries who will showcase their wedding trousseau collection of accessories, jewellery and gifts.
Wedding planners, photographers and make-up artists will also participate in the event, organised by the International Trade and Exhibitions India Pvt Ltd.
As a precursor to the event, a fashion show was organised here on Thursday, with Indian and Pakistani designers giving a sneak preview of their wedding collections.
Among those who traveled from across the border were Aiesha Varsey, Shahla
Rehman and Farida Qureshi.
The designs presented on the ramp highlighted the fashion prevalent in the sub-continent, especially in bridal wear and inculcated ethnicity and contemporary trends.
On the occasion, noted actress Jaya Prada launched a lifestyle magazine Bride n Style.
With the wedding season soon to commence on the Indian calendar, the exhibition aims to bring to the consumers choice and variety for the wedding plans, besides bringing the business community into direct contact with the buyers.
"The exhibition draws more than 100 exhibitors every year from India and Pakistan. With the onset of the marriage season, the eight edition of the exhibition is slated to be grand success," ITE India Pvt Ltd, director Kiran Sharma said.
The event also aims to provide a platform to the aspiring designers and artists from the industry, Sharma added.
