New Delhi: Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, who is in India on a three-day visit, on Tuesday said that there is not conflict between India and China.
“There is no conflict of fundamental interests. India, China will make a profound impact on Asia and world. Rajiv Gandhi had made a great contribution to Sino-Indian ties. This year China will commemorate Rajiv's visit to China 20 years back,” Yang said.
Reiterating his stand that India and China are partners and not rivals, Yang said, “China will work with India to remove trade and investment barriers. We will simplify visa procedures and facilitate Indian tourist travel to Tibet.”
Yang is expected to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday afternoon. He will also held delegation level talks with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday.
On the boundary issue, Yang said, “We will play a constructive role in ensuring a peaceful and stable South Asia. We should properly manage boundary dispute and other sensitive issues of accommodation and understanding.”

Disappointed with China at the Nuclear Supplies Group meet in Vienna, Mukherjee reportedly expressed his unhappiness to the visiting Chinese Foreign Minister.
Meanwhile, China has denied that it tried to sabotage the waiver for India at the NSG.
However, a senior Indian diplomat confirmed to CNN-IBN that in Vienna, China was adamant that there should be no exception made for India.
China demanded the NSG form a set of criteria and also seemed to be making a case for Pakistan by saying that the same terms should apply for Pakistan.
It warned the NSG that the waiver would upset the power balance in South Asia and may also weaken the non-proliferation regime.
The Indian diplomat was clear that China's actions contradicted Chinese President Hu Jintao's promise to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that his country would play a constructive role at the NSG.
