India beat Iran, enter kabaddi final
The four-time champions were never really tested by Iran as they scripted a comfortable 38-17 victory.

Doha: Title holders India maintained their winning streak by routing Iran in their last kabaddi round robin league match to set up a title clash with arch rivals Pakistan in the XVth Asian Games at Doha on Tuesday.

The four-time champions were never really tested against the vastly improved Iranians as they scripted a comfortable 38-17 victory at the Aspire Sports Complex.

The Iranians gave a better account of themselves in the first half by restricting the lead to 14-10 but the Indians stepped up their game after the breather to take a bigger lead.

India managed four 'lona' points and three bonus points in the match while the Iranians had one bonus point.

India, who have won the gold medal in all the editions of the Games since 1998 when the sport was introduced, will take on traditional rivals Pakistan in the final on Wednesday.
