CHENNAI: Former minister and DMK leader Parithi Illamvazhuthi on Thursday categorically said that he has no intention of quitting the party. In a statement here, Illamvazhuthi said he would fight for justice from within the party. “Even in my dreams I do not entertain ideas of quitting the DMK,” he said. On October 7, Parithi resigned as the deputy general secretary of the party protesting the re-admission of certain functionaries. He said that these persons had worked against him during the April 13 Assembly elections. The move by Parithi, a long time party functionary in the good books of party chief M Karunanidhi and party treasurer M K Stalin as well, came as a surprise. He was the first front line leader to quit the party post after the elections.Stating that “certain persons” had taken part in a misinformation campaign to tarnish his reputation and sincerity towards the party, he said, “A person, who has even printed books hailing Jayalalithaa, is now becoming close to the top leadership. But he has been feeding them wrong information,” he said.
