New Delhi: After being showered with lucrative film and television offers, actress Shilpa Shetty has finally had the time to turn her attention to the person who sparked off the Big Brother controversy.
Calling her arch-rival on the UK prime-time show, Jade Goody, a “pathetic specimen” who needs professional help, Shilpa said she would still beg India to forgive her tormentor.
The actress said she did not want Indians to hold a grudge against Jade, who planned to visit India to beg forgiveness for being racist inside the Big Brother house.
Though just after winning the show, Shilpa was quoted as saying by IANS, "Things happen, people make mistakes, we are all human beings and we are all fallible", Shilpa was shocked when she watched the full footage of the series where fellow contestants Jade Goody, Jo and Danielle sat around making racist barbs at her.
"I did not know all that had gone on. They are so mean. Why did not someone stop them? It hurts me deeply," PTI quoted Shilpa as saying.
Daily Mirror reported how the verbal assaults Shilpa suffered almost made her quit as they "completely broke" her within. "Jade and Jo need professional help, not condemnation. I am someone who believes in karma. What you have sowed, you will reap,” PTI quoted her as saying.
