Munderi Vana Samarakshana Samara Samithy (MVSSS) conducted the protest march jointly with Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) members, natives and tribes living inside the forest on Saturday. The protesters hoisted the flag on the river shore and declared the land as forest land.The High Court had ordered the Kozhikode Sub-divisional Court to auction the 1,163 acres and 31.5 cents of the forest land. The order was issued on a petition filed by an educational trust based in Chennai. The High Court on Friday stayed the auction for two more months. But the protesters demanded a permanent court order quashing the move to handover the forest land to private parties.
