KOCHI: The Cochin Shipyard has delivered a Platform Supply Vessel 'Troms Capella' to Clean Design 81 AS Norway. According to the officials with the Cochin Shipyard, it's the first time in the country that such a hightechnology offshore vessel is being constructed and delivered according to the quality standards of the Norwegian owners. The protocol documents of the vessel were signed by Jose Mathew, executive director(Design) on behalf of the Cochin Shipyard and Geir Lie, chairman of Troms Offshore Supply.
The vessel is of PSV 09 CD type designed by STX OSV Norway and is classed under the rules and regulations of Det Norske Veritas. The vessel is flagged under the Norwegian regulations. The vessel has grade II dynamic positioning features and has been assigned with clean design notation to signify the highest level of environmental compliance.The vessel with accommodation for 44 people also meet the requirements of COMF class which signifies high comfort level. The vessel has special stainless steel tanks with Nitrogen inerting arrangements to carry low flash liquids and is capable of all other normal offshore supply operations.
