The High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail petition of Abdul Rasheed Hussein Malabari, an associate of Chota Shakeel.
Justice Nagmohan Das rejected the bail petition of Malabari who is in jail in connection with a double murder in Mangalore in 1998. The two deceased were alleged associates of Chota Rajan.
Earlier, during the hearing, state public prosecutor H S Chandramouli stated, “If Malabari is granted bail he is likely to abscond to a foreign country. Further, he is likely commit similar offence.”
Chandramouli stated that the Panambur Police station in Mangalore district found dead bodies near Baikampady on July 7, 1998 and later during the investigation it was revealed that the dead persons Pandarihanth and David Pereira was in Chota Rajan’s gang and the Malabri belonged to Chota Shakeel’s group.
The deceased were involved in the murder of the brother of Malabari. At the instigation of Chota Shakeel, he had kill the deceased. He further contended that after the incident he had fled to Dubai, where he lived for several years.
As per Chota Shakeel’s directions he and two others were coming to Mangalore to murder Varun Gandhi and Pramod Muthalik. Then the Ullala police arrested them on March 29, 2009, recovered one pistol which did not have any license and cartridges.
Bangalore blast accused bail hearing adjourned
The High Court on Wednesday has adjourned the bail plea of one of the accused in 2008 Bangalore serial blast. Accused number 29 Abdul Khader had approached the court seeking a bail on the ground that the charges levelled against him are punishable offences with maximum seven years of imprisonment. He has already served three and a half years in jail. Justice Nagmohan Das adjourned the petition for further hearing.
