BANGALORE: The unexpected heavy showers on Tuesday jolted the city’s evening movements. The city received 1.6 millimetres rainfall. The temperature has decreased due to heavy rain in the last few weeks.A minimum temperature of 20 Degrees Celsius and maximum of 28 Degrees Celsius was recorded.Motorists struggled through the water-flooded roads across the city. Traffic congestion was reported in Majestic, K R circle, Corporation Circle, K R Market and Anekal. People had to put up with paralysed traffic as the downpour stopped only after many hours.The incessant rain uprooted trees at Banashankari and Padmanabhanagar. Waterlogging was reported at Tilak Nagar, Sriramapuram, Okalipuram, parts of Cox Town, Bannerghatta Road and Central Silk Board Junction. However, there was no damage to property and no casualties were reported till Tuesday night.The BBMP control rooms received complaints of tree felling and officials said it was cleared immediately. Water logging at houses in low-lying areas, such as GM Palya, Mahadevpura, Byrasandra, Seshadripuram, HSR layout and Nagarbhavi were also reported.
