BANGALORE: The Vacation Bench of the High Court on Thursday stayed further proceedings on a private complaint alleging former minister H D Revanna of being involved illegal land denotification.Hearing a criminal petition filed by Revanna, who sought to quash proceedings and a First Information Report against him, following a complaint against him, Justice K Govindarajulu passed the order.This follows a complaint filed by BJP Yuva Morcha member secretary Ravi Kumar before the Lokayukta Court.HC Issues Notices to State, LokayuktaThe Vacation Bench of the High Court on Thursday issued notices to the state government and Lokayukta on a petition filed by JD (S) MLC E Krishnappa challenging the Lokayukta investigation on a complaint against him.Krishnappa has been accused of acquiring green belt land which was reserved for a gomala. Hearing the petition, Justice A S Bopanna issued the notices directing that objections be filed.Later, Krishnappa filed an anticipatory bail petition which is likely to come for hearing next week.KMC Office-bearers’ Election StayedThe Vacation Bench of the High Court on Thursday ordered six-week interim stay to the electoral process of Karnataka Medical Council.Hearing a petition by H N Ravindra and six others, who challenged a notification ordering conduct of elections, Justice A S Bopanna issued notices to Medical Education Minister, Chief Secretary and Secretary to Medical Education Department.Janardhana Reddy’s Remand ExtendedThe CBI Special Court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of mining baron and former tourism minister G Janardhana Reddy and his personal assistant Mehfuz Ali Khan, who were arrested in connection with an illegal mining case, till May 23. Reddy and Khan were produced in court via video-conference from Parappana Agrahara Prison. Meanwhile, hearing on the bail pleas of Reddy and Khan were also adjourned till May 23.
