KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday sought the view of the state government, on a petition seeking directive from the DGP to monitor the crime branch investigation into the suspicious death of Indu, a research scholar at the National Institute of Technology, Kozhikode. Her body was recovered from the Periyar near Aluva, after she went missing from the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Express train.Justice N K Balakrishnan issued the directive while considering a petition filed by K Krishnan Nair, father of the deceased. He alleged that the present team was not equipped enough to find out the truth behind the incident, as it was not guided or monitored by a competent officer.According to Krishnan Nair, Indu who boarded the train from Petta Railway Station on April 24, seemed pleasant and had not expressed any symptom of mental stress. She was all set for her marriage, and was perfectly having normal mental condition, Krishnan Nair submitted. The petitioner argued that, assistant professor of NIT Subash, who was travelling with Indu on that day, had a conversation with her till 11 pm. The next morning she was found missing from the train. The petitioner submitted that Subhash could help uncover the mystery pertaining to the death.“The CB-CID team had already got some evidence to substantiate a possible link between Subhash and the death, but failed to make any progress. The police could have conducted a brain-mapping test or narco analysis on Subhash. Even if the theory of suicide was being taken into account, she would have committed suicide at the instance of Subhash, as she had spent her last hour with him,” the petitioner argued. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 30.
