HC notice to BBMP on Storm Water Drain

BANGALORE: The High Court on Tuesday issued notice to BBMP in connection with a pubic interest litigation petition on the alleged encroachment of storm water drain (SWD) at SK Garden near Tannery Road.Petitioner Chand Pasha contended that the slum dwellers near the S K Garden have encroached the drain and constructed houses throwing BBMP rules to the wind and causing water pollution in the area.He claimed that the BBMP is not clearing the encroachment despite a court order. Hearing the petition, the division bench headed by Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen issued notice to BBMP and adjourned the hearing.
