BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, Housing Minister V Somanna and his wife Shylaja in a case relating to illegal denotification of land.During the hearing, counsel for the petitioners stated that there is no possibility of tampering with the evidences  as the documents were obtained under Right to Information Act (RTI), which also require supporting statements from the witnesses.Relief for BSY Kin ExtendedFollowing a petition filed by sons of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, B Y Raghavendra and B Y Vijayendra, and his son-in-law R N Sohankumar seeking relaxation of the conditions imposed by the Lokayukta special court while granting them bail, the HC on Tuesday extended the relief.Dharam Singh Withdraws HC PetitionFormer chief minister N Dharam Singh on Tuesday withdrew a criminal petition he had filed before the High Court seeking direction to quash a complaint and    an FIR against him, in which he has been accused of facilitating illegal mining in the state. His recommendation was on the basis of the Lokayukta investigation report on illegal mining. The Lokayukta submitted the documents in connection with a petition filled by Yeddyurappa, who sought to quash the Governor’s sanction. Hearing the petition, a division bench comprising Justices Bhaktavatsalam and Govindarajulu adjourned it for further hearing.
