New Delhi: It is the ease with which actress Swara Bhaskar spews cuss words at Kundan (Dhanush) and Zoya (Sonam Kapoor) that makes the character of Bindiya in 'Raanjhanaa' so forceful. While many think using explicitly violent and crude words could be the most difficult part of acting to master, for Swara, it was never a task.
"I have a filthy tongue," admits Swara. This ex-JNUite's candid confession to using offensive language is as shocking as her explanation for resorting to sentences littered with swear words.
Going by Swara's justification, an occasional bout of profanity is just a way to feel better, to start with. "It all comes from the time I spent in Delhi. Anybody, who has boarded DTC buses and traveled with weird people, would know why cussing is important. My experiences have been such that I would often feel the urge to thrash people in the city. Since I couldn't take to fights on the streets, I would vent my angst and take out my frustration by using cuss words," she laughs.
Interestingly, it was the effortlessness with which she used abusive language while filming 'Raanjhanaa' that took the film's scriptwriter by surprise. "Yes, he was a bit shocked when I added a few cuss words on my own. Remember the dialogue, 'Keedey padengey tujhe. Haeze se maregi tu'? Since this wasn't part of the original script, Himanshu Sharma looked a little surprised."
Since many swear words which she has used in the film are also directed at Sonam Kapoor, Swara knows the damage that she has done. "I have to overcompensate for the damage I've done to Sonam Kapoor in the film. That's why each time I'm asked about Sonam, I tell people, 'Sonam is very sweet', 'I love Sonam', 'Sonam is great' etc."
Elated with the success of the film 'Raanjhanaa', Swara believes it would soon join Bollywood's Rs 100 crore movie club list. "There are many films which don't deserve to be part of the list. With the kind of response 'Raanjhanaa' has received, it should cross Rs 100 crore?
Swara has projects 'Mango' and 'Machli Jal Ki Raani Hai' in her kitty.
