Harmison doubtful for final Test
The England team management said they would make a final decision on Friday so they could have a look at X-ray's of the shin.

Mumbai: England's preparations for the third and final Test against India suffered a setback on Thursday when strike bowler Steve Harmison was forced to skip practice due to a sore shin.

The England team management said they would make a final decision on Friday so they could have a look at X-ray's of the shin.

"We will have a clearer picture tomorrow," England media manager Andrew Walpole said ahead of Saturday's Test.

Harmison, who bowled only four overs in the second innings of the second Test at Mohali, has so far taken 159 wickets in 41 matches.

India lead 1-0 in the ongoing series following their nine-wicket win at Mohali, while the opening Test ended in a draw at Nagpur.

England are already missing four members of their Ashes-winning squad.

Regular skipper Michael Vaughan and fast bowler Simon Jones returned home because of injuries before the series started, while left-handed opener Marcus Trescothick was unavailable due to personal reasons.

Veteran left-arm spinner Ashley Giles was ruled out ahead of the tour due to a hip problem.
