BANGALORE: Lokayukta on Friday conducted raids on eight government officials, including the secretary of the department of PWD, for acquisition of properties disproportionate to their known sources of income to the tune of Rs 10.12 crore (see box).
Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde at a press meet here on Friday said that post office deposits worth Rs 59 lakh were recovered from the house of Mruthynjaya Swamy the first instance where such a huge haul of cash was recovered. This is out of his illgotten assets worth Rs 5.95 crore, he added.
