New Delhi: In a major development in the death of a 15-year-old boy in Gohana town in Haryana, a three member SIT team headed by Rohtak DSP visited the town on Saturday to start probe into the boy's death. The post-mortem report indicates the boy died due to hanging.
"Post-mortem reports show cause of death is hanging, As the injuries are not fresh, it appears that there was no use of force, We have taken the statements of witnesses and complainants," the team head said.
The 15-year-old was found dead just hours after he was taken by the police on suspicions of stealing a pigeon. The boy's parent's allege that he died in police custody, while the Haryana Chief Minister has stated that it is a case of suicide. Two police officers have been booked for the boy's murder.
Condemning the incident, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, "I spoke to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding the incident. He has taken cognisance of that and is taking all appropriate measures."
The incident took place just a few days after two Dalit children were burnt alive in Faridabad's Sunped village.
