New Delhi: A teenage German national has alleged sexual assault by an auto rickshaw driver in central Delhi around two months back.
The woman, claimed, that on December 14, 2015, she lost her way and an auto rickshaw driver offered her a lift after which he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
She claimed the driver again tried to assault her but after raising an alarm, the auto driver, who was with two other men, fled from the spot.
The victim approached Delhi Commission for Women, on February 9 through email. Subsequently, she recorded her statement before DCW on February 20.
The DCW informed the police after which medical examination was conducted. DCW claimed that the police didn't file an FIR immediately. However, police say her statement was recorded and an FIR was filed on February 24.
According to the statement of the woman, she said that she fell unconscious and could not remember any details of the auto rickshaw or the driver. The victim is currently attached with an NGO.
