HYDERABAD: Future Group has announced a two-year full-time MBA programme in Supply Chain Management in association with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Admission process for the academic year 2011 has commenced at its Ahmedabad and Bengaluru campuses.The programme is aimed at providing an industry based education system and create graduates who are readily employable. “We have recruited graduates in MBA Operations from various business schools across the country and it takes almost a year to train them.With this programme, we want to produce professionals who will be productive from day-one,” said Samson Samuel, head of supply chain and CIO, Future Supply Chains Solutions. at a press conference on Thursday.The curriculum has been designed keeping in mind the needs of retail supply chain management to serve the fast-growing sector. Future Group has hired nearly 500 management trainees in retail and 100 in supply chain management this year and says the need for trained personnel will grow.Currently there are 200 students enrolled in MBA Retail and BBA Retail programs of Future Innoversity (Future Learning) at the four centers in Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.This year’s intake for the MBA programme is 50 students each for the two campuses which offer the PG course.The students are provided a letter of intent for employment on day-one and future employment takes into account the academic performance of the students. The course fee for the non-residential programme is Rs 4.1 lakh.
