New Delhi: Flickr, the popular online photo-sharing site owned by Yahoo, turned 10 on February 10. Stewart Butterfield, Co-Founder of Flickr, said, "It's exciting for me to celebrate Flickr's birthday! When we dreamed this photo site 10 years ago, we couldn't have imagined the impact it would have on digital photo sharing and the way it would connect people worldwide. Flickr was first to popularise the notion of Web site "tagging," the simple trick of applying short words or phrases to help other Web users find material of interest.

Flickr was founded in Vancouver, Canada by the husband-and-wife team of Caterina Fake and Stewart Butterfield
