Firing case: Fishermen intensify protest

KOCHI: The Matsya Thozhilali Unions in the district will intensify protest against the incident in which two fishermen were shot dead by the crew of the Italian vessel Enrica Lexi on Wednesday“The incident has sent shock waves among the fishing community. As part of the protest, the fishermen in the district will abstain from going to the  sea on Saturday,” said O S Sebastian, Chellanam panchayat ward member.  On Friday, the Kadalora Jagratha Samithi had observed strike at the  Kannamally region. At least 100 persons had taken part in the march taken out to protest against the incident.
