New Delhi: The infant who was abandoned by his parents at a Gurgaon hospital was re-claimed by his father on Wednesday afternoon.
The boy’s father turned up at the hospital after a private hospital in Delhi offered to treat the boy for his heart ailment, after watching his story on CNN-IBN.
The 21-day-old infant’s parents had abandoned him because they could not afford the cost of treatment.
“I was badly in need of money and expenses at the nursing home were going up. I had no option but abandon the child,” said the father, Rajiv Kumar Ranjan.
Since April 9, the infant has been taken care of by the Gurgaon hospital.
Both Apollo hospital and Fortis Healthcare, which have offered to treat the boy, are yet to admit the baby since there are some formalities that need to be completed.
The boy is currently in the charge of the state. Meanwhile, doctors have assured that the boy will make it.
