Everonn MD granted bail in bribe case

CHENNAI: P Kishore, managing director of Everonn Education Limited, and another person Uttam Chand Bohra, who were arrested and remanded in judicial custody on August 30 last for allegedly bribing an income-tax officer with `50 lakh, were granted bail by the Madras HC on Tuesday.Vacation judge KBK Vasuki granted the conditional bail, after accepting the arguments of advocate Abudukumar Rajarathinam. Considering the nature of allegations against the accused, the stage of investigation and the fact of recovery of bribe amount and also considering the period of detention already undergone by the petitioners, the judge said that she was of the view that they could be released on bail.
