HYDERABAD: Nalla Kalpana was visibly happy, distributing sweets with her husband Mohan Reddy after their son Pratyush secured top marks in engineering in the EAMCET exam, the results of which came out on Wednesday. Pratyush (17), who secured 155 marks out of 159, wants to become an administrator after pursuing a management course in an IIM. Born and brought up in Kolkata, the youngster says, “I don’t want to confine my boundaries in a certain stream like engineering. I want to have proper knowledge about a wide range of subjects like electrical engineering, management studies and animation.”Pratyush, whose favourite subjects are mathematics and chemistry, got 80 marks in mathematics, 36 in physics and 39 in chemistry in the EAMCET. He wants to join the electrical engineering course in IIT-Bombay or Chennai. “Pursuing an IIT course will not end my career. I want to become an expert in animation creating new things. I also plan to study for the CAT to get admission into IIMs after the IIT,” the ambitious youngster said. When asked whether he was inspired by any movie to become an animator, he immediately replies, “Yes, I was inspired by watching the animation effects in superstar Rajinikant’s flick, Robot. The animation in the movie was awesome. No doubt, animation will have a great demand in future.”Sitting with proud parents, friends and relatives, Pratyush said he felt great to celebrate his success with his near and dear ones. “I thank my lecturers in the college and weekly tests conducted which helped a lot in my preparation for the EAMCET,” he added.“We are very happy that he secured the top rank in the Engineering stream. We always allowed him to do things and study what he likes. He is dedicated to his studies. Even in Class X, he secured 751 marks out of 800. I hope he achieves what he wants in life,” said Pratyush’s mother, Kalpana.
