Encounter between terrorists and security forces in Kashmir

Srinagar: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces at a village about 35 kms from here in Pulwama district this evening, police said.

The encounter in Kawini village erupted when security forces launched a search and cordon operation following specific information about presence of terrorists there, the police said.

Hiding terrorists lobbed a grenade and fired on the search party, triggering a gunbattle, the police. No one was hurt in the militant attack, police said. Reinforcements have been rushed to the area to flush out the militants.
