HYDERABAD: Justice L Narasimha Reddy of the High Court Tuesday expressed displeasure over the way the state government and its agencies were handling the Emaar Properties controversy. The judge made the remark while hearing the pleas by Excelsior Owners Welfare Association, Boulder Hills Villas Owners Association and others challenging a memo of the government which restrained authorities from registering plots.D Prakash Reddy, senior counsel arguing on behalf of the Emaar MGF, said that despite a stay granted by the court on the memo issued by the government, the authorities were not registering the plots. He contended that since the subject vested with EHTPL, the government had no authority and title to interfere with lands.Advocate-general A Sudarshan Reddy urged the court to grant time to file the counter on the plea in view of the filing of charge sheet by the CBI.Apparently not satisfied with the submission of the advocate-general, the judge said the CBI report or charge sheet was not germane to the controversy as the matter involved the powers of the government to issue a notification under Section 22-A of the Registration Act.The matter was posted to March 5.
