They argued that such attire disrupts the sanctity of worship and the concentration of those participating in devotional activities.
The new policy is intended to ensure that the religious atmosphere within the temple is maintained and that all devotees can engage in worship and meditation in an environment that respects their cultural and spiritual values.

The prohibition specifically targets sleeveless tops, shorts, half-pants, T-shirts, and towels. The temple priests noted that wearing short clothes at the temple results in a significant amount of body exposure, which can cause discomfort to other worshippers. This visibility disrupts the solemnity and tranquility of the worship experience, they noted.
Consequently, the temple committee mandated that devotees should dress in appropriate and respectful attire when entering the temple to maintain the sacred atmosphere and ensure a respectful environment for all visitors.
