Union Rural Development Minister Minister Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday said the pace of development works has picked up under President's rule in Jharkhand.

Expressing happiness at the progress of various central projects in the state, he said a total of 78,000 wells were dug under MG-NREGA in Jharkhand and it was amazing that the status report of over 70,000 wells were updated in the state website.

There is no dearth of funds for development projects,  Ramesh said after reviewing central projects at a meeting with the officials at the state secretariat.

Assuring Jharkhand that funds would not fall short for development projects, he expressed satisfaction at the pace under President's rule.

He also expressed satisfaction at the strides of Saryu Action Plan and Saranda Action Plan undertaken in Naxal-affected districts of Latehar and West Singhbhum districts.

He advised the officials to complete within the time frame other programmes like Rajiv Gandhi Rural Road Project.
