Delhi Police on Monday said it was conducting searches to trace the hideouts of suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorist Haider alias Black Beauty, wanted in the 2013 Patna bombing case.
A Delhi court had April 22 granted the Delhi Police special cell 15 days' custody of Imteyaz Alam, a suspected Indian Mujahideen member allegedly involved in the Oct 27, 2013 blasts in Patna's Gandhi Maidan where BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed an election rally.
Police said that during interrogation, Alam disclosed that he can lead the police to the hideout of Black Beauty, who is on the run.
"He is to be interrogated at length to trace and identify the Indian Mujahideen members and confronted with wanted terrorist Tehsin Akhter alias Monu regarding acquaintance with other members of the Ranchi module," officials said on Monday.
Alam was presented in court last week in connection with the setting up of an illegal arms factory and was sent to police custody till May 7.
Alam, who was allegedly associated with the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), was brought to Delhi from Patna jail.
Police said Black Beauty and Alam, working for the Ranchi module of the Indian Mujahideen, were also part of a group running an arms and ammunition factory at Meer Vihar in Delhi.
They provided Monu a hideout and other logistics support in Ranchi.
Alam also assured Monu the recruitment of youngsters for the Indian Mujahideen.
