New Delhi: Veteran Hollywood star Goldie Hawn is in India and dropped in at the on-going Kitab Fest in the Capital on Saturday evening.

The golden girl of the swinging 60s spoke about fame, her glorious career in films and her spiritual hunger, as writers, readers and plain star-struck crowd hung around to hear her spill the beans. However, Hawn's session at the Kitab Fest was limited to an interview with the editor of the British tabloid Tatler, Geordie Greig.

Their meditative calm was only punctuated by squeals of Hawn's infectious giggle.

"I come almost every year. The first time I came to India was in 1981. My boyfriend and I landed at the airport and I asked - what you need a visa?" Hawn said.

And to confirm her fondness for the East, Hawn gave a glimpse into her spiritual quest.

"Sitting in chair, doing my mantra, going inward, I started to giggle and as I giggled before, but this was a divine giggle," Hawn said.

Meanwhile, Hawn's interviewer also gave an insight into her deeper side. "I think she is used to being funny, and if you're funny and blonde, people are happy to put you in a category as dumb blonde. She's clearly blonde but clearly not dumb," Greig said.

Hawn was at the Kitab festival in connection with her spiritual memoir A Lotus Grows in the Mud, which released in the US last year.

Hawn has acted in sevral award-winning films including, Oscar-winning Cactus Flower, Swing Swift and Private Benjamin.
