Dehradun: A woman identified as Rinku, who had entered into a written agreement with some hired killers, has been arrested by Dehradun police for plotting to murder her husband. She had used a stamp paper to enter into an agreement with the killers in which the amount to be paid for the murder of her husband Surinder Singh was also mentioned. She even told the killers that they could use the stamp paper against her if she did not pay them.
The woman was arrested along with five men by the Dehradun police, Uttarakhand on Sunday. The others arrested include the dead man's nephew Arun, Arun's brother-in-law Rohit, one of his relatives and a friend.
Rinku claimed that she got her husband killed to secure her children's future and she did not regret her act. Rinku lives with her family in Ranipokhri in Doiwala area, which is situated a few kilometres from Dehradun. The woman lodged a missing person report about her husband at a Dehradun police station on February 20. She told the police her husband was missing for the last three days but the police suspected her and put her mobile number on surveillance and dug out her call details which revealed that she had been frequently calling some numbers for the past few days.
The police found a beheaded and half-burnt body from the forests on February 20. Then police suspected and arrest the woman's nephew and her brother-in-law, who confessed to the crime after interrogation.
Surinder Singh had been killed on February 17. His nephew and the brother-in-law gave him alcohol to drink and then took him to the forests where two other men were waiting for them. There he was forced to drink more alcohol after which they strangulated him using a rope and tried to burn his body.
When Rinku came to knew about her husband's half-burnt body she told Rohit and his brother-in-law to behead his body and bury it so that he could not be identified. However, the duo failed to do so and was arrested.
