PHULBANI: Daringbadi BJD block president Junes Pradhan was arrested on Monday for his alleged involvement in the recent landmine blast. Pradhan was picked from his house at around 6 am, said SP Jaynarayan Pankaj.Four persons, including three policemen, died and three were injured in the last week’s landmine blast at Srirampur-Kotagarh road, he added.Pradhan was arrested in connection with two cases registered against him in Kotagarh police station. He is also the Convenor of Odisha Adivasi Manch, Kandhamal.Banabasi Surakshya Parishad convenor Narendra Mohanty, Odisha Adivasi Manch president, Kandhamal, Jogendra Pradhan and Odisha president of Adivasi Adhikar Andolan Balabhadra Mallick condemned the arrest of Junes terming it as illegal. Meanwhile, combing operation at Kotagarh has been intensified.
