New Delhi: The Tamil film industry throws up a hundred films every year and Prabhu Deva can’t be missed in the lot. Actor, dancer, director, the man who bridged the north-south divide celebrates his 34th birthday on Tuesday.
Better known as the Michael Jackson of India, he’s the one with magic feet. He recently reinvented himself, calling the shots on the sets of the Tamil film Pokkiri , which released this January.
On his transition from actor to director, in an interview to CNN-IBN earlier, Prabhu Deva said, “No, actually I came to the industry as a technician. So for me there wasn’t much change.
But Prabhu Deva, across the nation will be best remembered for his killer moves in Gentlemen. And who can forget the choreography in Que sera sera from Pukar in which actress Madhuri Dixit sizzled on-screen? And of course, Prabhu Deva was also the magic behind Hrithik Roshan’s act in Main aisa kyoon hoon in Lakshya for which he won the national award for choreographing that song.
The multi-faceted star has enjoyed the journey. “I became an actor, no regrets. I became a director, no regrets. And I am doing it with all my heart,” he said.
