KOCHI: An All-party delegation led by Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany will meet Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Tuesday to convey the Corporation's disappointment over non-allocation of funds for the city in the state budget.
A decision in this regard was taken at the council meeting held here on Monday. At the meeting, the councillors belonging to the ruling front and the Opposition unanimously criticised the budget presented by Finance Minister K M Mani last week.

The council also expressed its protest against cutting short the funds allocated to the Metro Rail project. "The Chief Minister had earlier promised that he would give an amount of Rs 25 crore to acquire land to widen the ThammanamPulleppady Road. Even this amount was not included in the budget," Opposition councillor M Anilkumar said. The budget has not only neglected the city but also the entire district, he added.

The Meenachil river project will badly affect the water source," Venugopal said after presenting a resolution in this regard.

The council also passed a resolution presented by R Thyagarajan to raise the facilities at Palluruthy Government Hospital.
