Madurai police have filed a plea at the Melur Magistrate Court seeking police custody to probe P Palanichamy, one of the owners of PRP Exports, on the illegal granite quarrying scam.
Earlier, the court granted a three-day police custody to probe Palanichamy following which he was interrogated on the alleged illegal quarrying in a water canal in Keelaiyur. After the interrogation, he was sent to the Palayamkottai jail where he is remanded till September 7. So far, seven complaints have been registered against Palanichamy, his sons Senthilkumar and Sureshkumar and relatives Murugan, Theivendran and Maharajan in the case.
