Contractors detained for Maoist links

NUAPADA: Two contractors have been detained by Nuapada police on charges of aiding Maoists in the district by extending  logistics support to the ultras. Although the police are tight-lipped about their identity, it is learnt that one among them is a special class contractor while the other is a ‘A’ class contractor. They have admitted to providing logistics support to the Maoists after being threatened with life. Earlier, a contractor identified as Tuna Patra (32) of Sinapali village was shot dead by the Maoists. Patra’s body was found near Samaleswari temple in Phulki village on May 4. Both the contractors have provided the Maoists rice and cash.
