TUMKUR: Close on the heels of Congress member Jayachandra praising former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, it was K H Muniyappa’s turn on Thursday. At the installation of the Sri Shirdi Saibaba idol at the new‘Dwarakamayi’ temple held on Thursday, he took the opportunity to express his gratitude for Yeddyurappa and praised him.“He tops the list of chief ministers in the state who were pro-developmen. His attitude and patience is remarkable,” he said. To substantiate his word, he went on to explain how Yeddyurappa helped railways projects in the state by sanctioning 50 per cent of the state’s share and acquisition of the land for the new railway routes. “He ensured acquisition of 2,000 acres in four months beside sanctioning Rs 5,000 crore,” he added.Yeddyurappa termed T B Jayachandra as a model MLA as he utilised government schemes to develop his constituency. Tumkur BJP M P G S Basavaraju who had taken initiative in implementing the temple had provided the stage for their pet leaders and worked as bridge between them.
