BANGALORE: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah accused the BJP state government of working against the interests of the Other Backward Communities(OBC. He was speaking after participating at a party function held on Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office premises, where the new state president of the OBC wing of KPCC Venugopal assumed charge on Thursday. Siddaramaiah said that the real face of the ruling BJP unfolded when it had deprived OBCs from contesting more seats in Zilla and Taluk Panchayath elections in 2010. Recalling the contribution of former chief minister late Devaraj Urs, who was the champion of OBCs in the state, Siddaramaiah requested the OBCs to join the mainstream. KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar said that the Congress is the only political party in India,which can accommodate all sections of the society in terms of providing political power.
