New Delhi: Congress on Sunday asked for a supreme court monitored CBI inquiry in the Vyapam deaths. Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said Madhya Pradesh government is trying to divert attention from Vyapam Scam to hide truth.
While addressing a press conference, Surjewala said, "Shivraj Singh Chouhan is trying to divert attention from Vyapam scam to hide truth."
Calling it the most sinister scam in the history of India he said that the Special Investigation Team(SIT) and Special Task Force (STF) have found nothing on Vyapam scam, then how will it find anything in 45 deaths.
The Congress questioned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the issue. The district president of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Sudhir Tiwai in Madhya Pradesh has now claimed threat to his life. He has said that he will approach the police and inform them that his life is also under threat.
Dr Arun Sharma, Dean of Netaji Subhash Chandra Medical College was found dead in a Delhi hotel on Sunday morning. Sharma was the chairman of the committee appointed by Madhya Pradesh government to investigate fake doctors appointed through Vyapam. He is the second dean of the medical college who has died under mysterious circumstances. His predecessor DK Sakale was found dead in July, 2014 with 90 per cent burns.
Meanwhile, Chouhan has rejected calls for a CBI probe into the Vyapam scam in which more than 40 people linked to the case have died mysteriously so far. The relative of young journalist who died on Saturday has asked for Akshay Singh's viscera to be sent for examination outside the state.
