Civil society slams government, governor

BANGALORE: Members of Transparency International India lashed out at the state government for appointing Justice Chandrashekaraiah as the Upa Lokayukta.The members said that the CM and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly had colluded in the appointment of the Upa Lokayukta. “Governor H R Bhardwaj, who usually puts the government on the defensive, too, remained silent,” they said. Member of National Federation Of Indian Women M N Jayashree found Bhardwaj’s behaviour in the incident questionable.
