With Christmas round the corner, people in the city are high on festivity spirits. Similar was the scene at Devnar School For The Blind, Begumpet, where Chirstma celebrations have already begun. The school students performed many acts at the Christmas celebration programme which took place on Wednesday in their school premises. The highlight of the celebrations was the Nativity play, which was performed as beautifully as any other school’s kids would perform proving that these kids are no different. Kids performed from the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem as described by the gospels of Luke and Matthew. Srikanth, a student of class eight performed the role of Joseph in the Nativity play. He said that he enjoyed acting in the play and would love to act again. The part where the small girls dressed in sparkling white as angels who visit the shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus was a treat for the eyes. The play was followed by singing of carols and group dance performances. Dr Shikhamani, an academician and a horticulture scientist and Dr August Bain, from the Ministry of Healing who has been working the field of Leprosy since 40 years were present at the ocassion.
