New Delhi: Sunil Chhetri's brilliance for JCT took the game away from home favourites Dempo 3-2 in the 13th round match of the National Football League in Madgao on Thursday.
Chhetri scored a goal on either side of break but the pendulum swung for JCT when Sukhwinder Singh netted the winner in the 78th minute of the game.
The result also means that Dempo remain on 23 points from 13 games, which also puts them in danger of losing out in the title race. JCT now have19 points from 13 matches.
JCT came out all guns blazing and it appeared that they ran away with the game, leading 2-0 in the 56th minute, and then 3-0 in the 78th. But a brilliant comeback saw Dempo cutting the difference down to 2-3, eventually losing out.
Sunil Chetri was adjudged the man of the match for his two goals.
