Chemicals worth Rs. 6 crore seized

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Civil Supplies and Agriculture department officials seized `6.2 crore worth of 5,000 metric tonnes of rock phosphate and organic manure from ATR Godown near the Coromandel Fertilisers at Gajuwaka on Friday.The seized stocks belonged were packed in bags of 50 kg.Agriculture assistant director Vijaya Prasad told Express that the Coromandel International should get permission from the Union government to store such huge quantities of chemicals and fertilisers.Three persons died in a fire accident in the same godown last year.
