Chalanam 2012 at Lourdes Hospital

KOCHI: Health care is going five-star in Kochi these days, but the number of such hospitals reaching out to the ordinary people are few, said Excise Minister K Babu. He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of ‘Chalanam 2012’, a convention of persons who underwent joint replacement surgery at Lourdes Hospital.The minister emphasised that hospitals must aim at treatment affordable to the public.“Whether the world class infrastructure and facilities of many hospitals are within the reach of common man is a question mark. In this respect, it is a relief when hospitals like the Lourdes and Lisie charge nominal rates, Babu said.
