BANGALORE: In order to give an opportunity for the underprivileged youngsters to explore their hidden talent, the Magic Bus, an NGO, is organising a campaign, ‘Be a sport’. The campaign promotes both fashion and sports simultaneously on a single platform.The campaign also brings together top actors, athletes and fashion icons like Sidhharth Mallya, Chris Gayle, Zaheer Khan, A B De Villers, Daniel Vettori, Imran Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Virat Kohli to set an example of how one can help India’s underprivileged youth through a theme style and sports.Speaking about the initiative of the NGO, Zaheer Khan, cricket player said, “I myself have had a tough journey in life. I’ve worked very hard since I was just a child, and cricket has been one of the most influential things in my life that has taught me so much, and brought me very far.”In this event the celebs will interact with the underprivileged in a video chat to know more about their interest in sports and fashion. Based on their interest for sports and talent, the players will select 15 children for playing the game. Matthew Spacie, founder of Magic Bus, said, “Each of us are on a journey — whatever your circumstance in life. We are trying to profile the exceptional journey of individuals, many of them sportsmen and women to get to where, they are now. Similarly this organisation takes children and youth, living in poverty on a journey from childhood to livelihood through a mentoring programme which uses the metaphor of sport to change behaviours in nearly 3,000 slums and villages and over 200,000 children across India.”These kids will get an opportunity to showcase their talent in South Africa in the month of December.
