Farrukhabad: In yet another incident of police brutality, a man was thrashed by police officers in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district. The man along with two others were taken into custody on charges of stealing a laptop.
The man was held up against a pillar by one police officer while two other officers took turns to beat the man up.
The youth was beaten up at the Merapur police station on Thursday and the video clip of the police action was not only sent to senior officials but posted on the social media today.
Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar P, when contacted, said, "I have got the video of policemen beating the youth in the police station and the matter is being investigated.
"If the incident is found to be true, stern action will be taken as per the law against the policemen found violating human rights," the SP said.
