New Delhi: The campaigning for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections ended on Wednesday and the Capital is all set for the polling.
Close to one crore voters in the Capital will cast their votes to select 272 municipal councillors on Thursday.
More than two 2,500 candidates are in the fray and a record 50 per cent are contesting as independents.
The state election commission has set up more than 9,500 polling stations across Delhi and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for polling.
The Delhi government has declared Thursday a public holiday so that people can cast their vote. The voting will begin at 0800 hrs (IST) and end at 0500 hrs (IST).
