Cabinet to take action against IFS officers

BANGALORE: With the Supreme Court appointed Central Empower Committee (CEC) reportedly indicting eight IFS officers in its report on the issue of illegal mining in Bellary district, the state government is expected to take disciplinary action against the officers.The 9th meeting of the Cabinet for the year 2011 is scheduled to be held at 11 am on Thursday. The CEC in its report to the SC had indicted the officials of forest department for allegedly facilitating illegal extraction of iron ore in the district which had caused enormous loss of revenue to the state exchequer.The state government in its reply to the Apex Court on the questions raised.
