BSNL staff strike, want Maran sacked

CHENNAI:  Members of the National Federation of Telecom Employees (BSNL) on Monday staged a demonstration in front of the BSNL office on Anna Salai, demanding the removal of Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran from the post for his alleged involvement in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.C K Madhivanan, deputy general secretary of the federation, who led the demonstration, said the CBI had initially probed Maran’s misuse of BSNL for commercial gain, during Raja’s tenure as Telecom Minister, when there was a split between the DMK’s first family and the Marans. However, despite the CBI having submitted its findings to the Centre, no action was taken against Maran because the DMK family had united by then.
